AntiProductivity

📍 Anaheim, CA – Summer 2000

While working at IRIS, a real estate software company in Anaheim, I spent my days in a classic cubicle-filled office—“Cubville.” The environment was corporate, the air conditioning was cold, and the inboxes were constantly full.

📬 Email Overload

That summer, I got tired of receiving hundreds of emails filled with jokes, GIFs, weird movie files, and all kinds of anti-productivity content. It was funny stuff, but it made it hard to focus.

💡 The Anti-Productivity CD

Instead of deleting or ignoring it, I collected everything—organized the content—and burned it onto a CD. I called it Anti-Productivity. I made copies for everyone in the office and included a note:

“At work, you should be working. Here’s all the fun stuff for later.”

🎁 Office Reaction

Most people loved it, even the bosses. One coworker was a bit offended by some of the content, but overall it was a hit. I enjoyed the process of batch burning CDs and turning something chaotic into a neat little gift.

🔥 Bonus Discs

After the success of the first disc, I went on to make two more volumes—each filled with even more absurd internet gems. The Anti-Productivity trilogy was complete.
