OC Resistance

Go Team Blue: Defending Humanity in Ingress

OC Resistance is Orange County’s active Resistance cell in the augmented reality game Ingress Prime. If you know, you know. It’s not just a game. It’s a global battle played out on real-world maps, with real locations, players, strategy, and deep lore.

We play as the Blue Faction—resisting the influence of the Shapers and their XM technology. The Green Team wants to embrace the XM and merge with it. We say no. We defend humanity’s independence. We fight with glyphs, with links, with fields, and with strategy. We create mind shields, capture portals, and walk miles for the cause.

Ingress is more than tapping on a phone. It’s Capture the Flag meets spycraft. The interface is your scanner (the app), the battlefield is your city, and the portals are real-world landmarks. Build fields by triangulating three captured portals. Stack fields for power. Hack for gear. Glyph for intel. Link for glory.

We play for fun. But also for fitness. I started playing just to get out and move—because walking in circles is boring, but playing a mission on a scanner? Now that’s a reason to go walk 3 miles. I’ve met Resistance agents, attended meetups, and helped defend major fields in OC. It’s low-key. It’s underground. And it’s always running.

If you’re in Orange County and want to join the resistance, we’d love to have you. You’ll learn the scanner. You’ll meet allies. You’ll walk more than ever. And you’ll realize: the world is not what it seems.
