Irvine Vikings

A StarCraft II Esports Dream

Irvine Vikings was meant to be a city-based StarCraft II esports team representing Irvine, California—home of Blizzard Entertainment, the company behind the game. The idea was to build a competitive team, hire coaches, and train for online and live tournaments. I wanted to manage it, not play it. Just shape it. Brand it. Lead it.

The dream was real, but the resources weren't. Time, money, logistics—it wasn’t feasible. The project remains unrealized. But the spirit of it lives on. And the name—Irvine Vikings—still has strength. Still holds weight.

This project was also going to be dedicated to my friend Tony Sandoval, who passed away. He was part of the gaming life I’ve always loved. If the team ever rises, it will be in his name. Until then, this page is its flag. A marker of what might have been.

StarCraft II lives on. And so do ideas like this one.
